Labor Day Printables in Action
I baked a quick batch of cupcakes today, and snapped a few photos of the finished product... just to give you an idea of what to do with your labor day printables. I hope you have a safe, fun and happy long weekend.

I can't belive the unofficial end of summer is upon us. I love summer, even when it's blistering hot. It's the one time of year where everyone seems to slow down just a bit. We get together with friends more often, and with the long days we spend much more time outside. This Labor Day we will do what we have done for several years -- spend the holiday with a group of friends.
I have been asked to bring cupcakes to the gathering. I'd like to take all the credit for my cupcakes, but to be honest, it's Martha Stewart and a really good oven I have to thank. Martha's cupcake cookbook is so easy to follow that anyone can make cupcakes that rival those offered by the most trendy bakeries in town. To me, though the presentation is just as important as the taste, so the cakes need to be gorgeous. To help I've designed the following party circles:
I know these seem a bit busy, but after I printed them out and cut them with the circle punch I was delighted. They are going to look fabulous. So, if you need a set of party circles for your Labor Day get together (or any other BBQ for that matter), you can find them here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/63554320/Party-Circles
Thank you everyone for your loyalty, and I wish everyone a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend.
I recently had the pleasure of working with a customer who couldn't decide on the theme for her twins birthday party. To complicate matters a bit, the twins are opposite gender, so her decision had to work for both babies. We tossed around several ideas, but in the end this very special customer decided to make her babies the theme of the party. A great idea if you ask me.
She opted for onesies and hats in disco dot caribe for her son, and sorbet for her daughter. These fabrics work perfectly for boy/girl parties, because lime green can be used to tie everything together. So here are the party supplies:
The idea behind the invitation was to use the colors in the fabric to create a cohesive "theme." The design itself is very simple, and it highlights the true stars of the show.
Everything else was a snap to figure out. Maddox would be featured in party supplies with blue and Khloe with supplies that were pink. Green would be used to common items. Check out the party circles, fancy labels, water bottle labels and birthday banner:

If you want to make baby the star of his/her next party, these diy party favors can be purchased for the following:
Personalized Photo Invitation: $15.00
Party Circles: $12.00
Fancy Labels: $ 7.00
Water Bottle Labels: $7.00
Happy Birthday Banner: $15.00 (Personalization can be added for just $3.00 more)
OR, purchase the whole set with your birthday outfit for just $50.00 that is a savings $6.00. Approximately 10%.
June was a very busy month, and I'd like to give a big thank you to all who "liked" us on Facebook, and who purchased birthday outfits. I can't wait to get everything finished, posted, and available. The first set of printables was created to go with my Disco Dot Sorbet set. This outfit is so simple, yet so feminine, it could really be used with any theme. The buyer selected and ice cream themed set.
For those who are unfamiliar with the shop, here is a picture of my Disco Dot Sorbet birthday set for girls. This buyer asked me to put both an elastic strap and ribbon ties on the hat. She likes the look of a ribbon tie, but wanted the security of elastic. If this is too simple for your taste, I've also glammed it up a bit by trimming the hat with maribu feathers, and making a coordinating tutu:
Now for the fun stuff.... The party circles:
The Water Bottle Labels:
The fancy frames (my personal favorite in this set):
Finally, the Birthday Banner:
I am trying to figure out the best options for laser printing, so that I can suggest them. So far it looks like the going price is about 59 cents per page. So that means that the following can be professionally printed for about $12.00
The Happy Birthday Banner
24 Cupcake Toppers (2 Pages)
24 Water Bottle Labels (6 Pages)
16 Fancy Labels (4 Pages)
Next... will be the lady bug themed outfit and party favors. Hold tight, and let me know what you think.
For months now I've been toying with the idea of adding a collection of printables to coordinate with my birthday outfits. My thought is that time deprived moms will be able to purchase a birthday outfit and coordinated party favors in one place without having to spend countless hours searching for the right outfit to go with the party favors or vice versa. Great idea, right? My only problem is that I had no idea how to execute this plan. Thankfully, my son was turning 2, and I wanted to throw him a party on a budget of $100. I forced myself to learn. So here is how it started... with an invitation, and matching birthay outfit:
A
I actually screen printed the fabric for the #2 on his shirt, making it match the dots on the invitation.
Once the invitations were out, and guests were confirmed I had to get rolling. Here is a picture of the cake/gift table (unfortunately this was taken before I had the opportunity to put the cupcake toppers in DOH!) before our guests arrived:
The water bottles were a big hit. One of our guests suggest I market this idea, and become the next Martha Stewart. I said, "that's a great idea, but she's the one who came up with it." Anyway, here is a closeup of the bottles:
And these are the actual labels:
I made improvements to the labels after printing them, so the actual labels pictured here are different from the labels I put on the bottles. We used the new and improved version to create napkin rings. By doing this we were able to use less expnsive plate and napkins yet have a completely coordinated and cohesive party theme.
Here are the cupcake toppers:
The fancy lables I used to identify food (as if hummus really needs a label). What I did was cut the image out, and layer it on a blank greeting card to create a tent card. These would also be great for favor bags:
Aside from Lukey's outfit, I have to say my favorite decoration, by far was the Happy Birthday Banner. I layered the banner on top of cardstock, punched a hole in the corner of each pennant, set a grommet and ran the ribbon through. It made a great statement, and everyone present, knew why there were there:
So, I've done a lot of showing off, and patting myself on the back, and you're probably wonder, so what's free. Right? From now until June 30, 2011 each person that (1) purchases a birthday set valued at $25.00 or more; and (2) becomes a Facebook fan, I will provide a set of personalized (1) water bottle labels; (2) party circles; (3) fancy frames; and (4) a birthday banner. Beginning July 1, I will be selling these items in my shop, and they will no longer be freebies, so act fast.
